Moroccan Nationality by Origin

Any person born in Morocco to two Moroccan parents is considered a Moroccan national by origin, having acquired Moroccan nationality from both parents.

Any person born in Morocco to two known foreign parents does not automatically acquire Moroccan nationality by origin, except in cases expressly provided for by Moroccan nationality law.

Moroccan citizens born outside Morocco to Moroccan parents are considered Moroccan nationals by origin.

A child born outside the national territory to a Moroccan father or a Moroccan mother is deemed to hold Moroccan nationality by origin.

A person born in Morocco to unknown parents is presumed to be a Moroccan national. However, this presumption is temporary and rebuttable, meaning it may be overturned if the person's foreign parentage is later established.

In cases involving multiple nationalities, the applicable law is determined according to the rules of private international law:If the nationality of the forum (the judge's country) is one of the individual's nationalities, the judge applies the law of that nationality.

If the forum nationality is not among the individual's nationalities, the judge identifies the person's effective or dominant nationality, based on the strongest genuine connection or allegiance to a particular state.
